Welcome to Agrios
Agrios helps farmers, traders, buyers, transporters and exporters in Nigeria answer one question before they trade: what is this crop really worth today, and where? It works in any phone or computer browser at useagrios.com — no download needed.
This guide covers every part of Agrios as it works today. Where a feature is still being built, or a listing is an example rather than a real partner, the guide says so plainly — so you always know what you can rely on.

- Public price pages for every crop, every major market and every crop at each market — they open fast and you can share them.

- Stricter price reports — units are converted before checking, and a price only goes live when a second trader confirms it.

Getting started
1. Open Agrios
Go to useagrios.com in Chrome, Safari or any browser. You can browse every price, page and tool without an account.
2. Create your free account
An account lets you set price alerts, report prices, post jobs and demands, and see your Crop Credit Score. Tap Sign in → Create account.

3. Add Agrios to your phone's home screen
- Android (Chrome): tap Install when the "Install Agrios on your phone" banner appears, or open the ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen.
- iPhone (Safari): tap the Share button → Add to Home Screen.
Agrios then opens like an app. It opens even without signal, but shows example prices until you're back online.
How to read a price
Every price on Agrios has four parts. Reading all four stops you being caught out.

| Unit | The measure the price is for — 50kg bag, 100kg bag, crate, basket, bunch, 25L can or tonne. Always compare the same unit. |
| Average, low, high | The typical price at that market today, and the range you'll usually be quoted. |
| Source | WFP data from the World Food Programme's Nigeria market monitoring. Community reported by traders and confirmed by a second report. Estimate modeled from seasonal and regional patterns — a guide, not a price someone paid. |
| Confidence | How much weight to give the number. Observed prices score higher than estimates. |
Prices in the app refresh every two minutes while you have it open. The underlying market data changes daily, not minute by minute.
Features, step by step
📊 Crop price pages
Every crop has its own page, e.g. useagrios.com/prices/maize/. It shows:
- The national average, cheapest and highest market today, and the price per kg
- A table of every market, cheapest first, each with its source
- A recent price trend chart (dashed when it includes estimates)
- The crop's name in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, and common questions answered
Tap a market in the table to open that crop at that market — e.g. rice at Mile 12 — with its rank against every other market. Market pages (e.g. /markets/dawanau-market-kano/) list every crop at one market.
Share on WhatsApp sends today's price and the link in one tap.

✅ Is this price fair?
Use this at the market, before you pay. Open useagrios.com/tools/fair-price-check/ or the box on any crop page.
You get one of four answers, with the numbers behind it:

Crates, baskets and bunches aren't a fixed weight, so enter those prices per crate, basket or bunch.
₦2,000 per kg of rice = ₦100,000 per 50kg bag — overpriced against real prices.
⚖️ Price per kg calculator
At useagrios.com/tools/price-per-kg/. Enter any price and quantity; Agrios gives the price per kg and per 25kg, 50kg and 100kg bag and per tonne. Use it when sellers quote in different bag sizes.
🗺️ Market heatmap
Tap Heatmap and pick a crop. Markets are ranked from the best place to sell (highest price) to the best place to buy (lowest). Before you move stock between states, compare the price gap with the cost of transport.
🔔 Price alerts
Agrios checks your alerts every few minutes and notifies you when the condition is met. Your alerts are saved to your account, so they work on any device; switch them on and off or delete them any time. WhatsApp alerts are coming soon — the option is shown but can't be selected yet.
Free accounts can keep 2 alerts on at once; Pro and Business have no limit.
📝 Report a price
Seen or paid a price today? Reporting it makes Agrios more accurate for everyone and builds your Crop Credit Score.

| Accepted and live | Your price agreed with another trader's recent report, so it now updates that market. |
| Accepted — goes live once confirmed | Your price looks right. It goes public when a second trader reports a similar price within 7 days. |
| Sent for review | It's far from recent prices, or the unit can't be compared. An admin checks it. |
| Not accepted | Far outside today's range. Check the unit and the number, then try again. |
📰 Weekly food price report
Every week Agrios publishes a report at useagrios.com/reports/: national average prices for each crop, the change on the week, and the biggest moves in observed prices only.
Follow it in any news reader with the RSS feed useagrios.com/reports/feed.xml, or share the link in your trader groups.
📥 Download the price data
useagrios.com/data/ has today's prices as a free CSV file (crop, market, state, prices, unit, source). You're free to reuse it with credit to Agrios. Researchers and journalists: the source column tells you which rows are observed.
🚛 Transport
Farmers and traders — post a job
Tap Transport → Post a job. Enter pickup and delivery state, crop, quantity, your budget and pickup date. Drivers browsing open jobs see it.
Transporters — find and accept jobs
- Browse Open jobs, sorted by urgency.
- View route opens driving directions in Google Maps.
- Accept job marks the job as yours so other drivers stop seeing it. Then contact the farmer to arrange pickup — Agrios does not yet send the farmer a message for you.
- Register vehicle adds your truck, base state and rate so farmers can find you.
Landing cost calculator
Choose a crop, destination market and quantity to estimate the cost of moving produce, so you can see whether a price gap between markets is worth the trip.
📋 Buyer demand board
Tap Demand to see what buyers want: crop, quantity, target price, delivery place and deadline. Filter by crop or state.
- Respond with produce calls or emails the buyer directly.
- The 🚛 button takes you to Transport to arrange delivery.
- Posting your own buying request from the app is coming soon — until then, email it to info@useagrios.com.

🌾 Farmer directory
Farmers who ticked "let buyers contact me" appear here with their state, LGA and crops — never their phone number. Listing yourself is free. Buyers on Pro can send a contact request, which is recorded for the Agrios team to connect you (automatic notification to farmers is coming).
🌍 Export
- The price comparison shows local prices next to export benchmark prices for cocoa, sesame, cashew, hibiscus, soybean, groundnut and palm oil, with the grade buyers require and the usual port. Export benchmarks are updated periodically, not daily.
- Find export buyers: tell us your crop, quantity, phone and state. The Agrios team reviews each inquiry and follows up with you directly to match you with an export agent.
- Export agent directory: entries marked Example listing show how the directory will work; they are not partners.
💰 Finance — your Crop Credit Score
Your score runs from 300 to 1,000. It updates each time you report a price and again every night:

💡 Market opportunities
On the home screen, opportunity cards point out price gaps and trends from today's prices. They're labelled either "Generated from today's Agrios prices" or "Illustrative examples". Treat them as prompts to check, not advice — each button opens the page where you can check the numbers.

Pro Annual is ₦25,000 a year — two months free. Business (for aggregators, processors and cooperatives) currently includes the same features as Pro. Pay securely with Paystack (Nigerian bank cards, USSD and mobile money). Tap Upgrade to Pro in the menu.
Tips from traders
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |

| Prices show "Example" or won't load | The server may be waking up — wait up to a minute and refresh. Crop pages at useagrios.com/prices/ always load. |
| Can't sign in | Check your email spelling; passwords are case-sensitive and at least 8 characters. |
| My price report wasn't accepted | Check the unit matches what you were quoted (per kg vs per bag) and the number has no extra zero. |
| I can't add a third alert | Free accounts keep 2 alerts on at once — switch one off, or upgrade to Pro. |
| A buyer or agent says "Sample" or "Example" | It's a demonstration entry, not a real business. Don't try to trade with it. |
Privacy
Agrios never shows your phone number or email publicly. The Farmer directory shows only what you chose to share, and only if you opted in. Price reports are published as prices, not with your name.
